Medicare is funded by the federal
government and the program provides hospitalization
insurance and health care coverage for those of
a certain age or who meet specific disability
requirements. Medicare is often less expensive
that comparable private insurance policies, especially
for those older and disabled people who are likely
to have ongoing health issues and pre-existing
conditions.
What some people don’t realize is that
Medicare doesn’t pay 100 percent of all
health care costs. The patient is usually responsible
some out-of-pocket expenses. That doesn’t
have to be the case. There are insurance policies
available that will provide insurance where Medicare
leaves off. Depending on the individual, the needs
and the health condition at the time of application,
that second insurance policy could be reasonably
priced and could save you plenty of money in the
long run.
